Special Congressional Briefing: Clear & Present Danger to India’s Constitution
January 26 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm ESTFree
India adopted its modern secular and pluralist Constitution on January 26, 1950 shortly after winning an epic struggle for liberation from British colonial rule. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu supremacist government is now working actively to upend that Constitution and in its place create India a Hindu theocratic state with severely curtailed rights for non-Hindus, including Christians and Muslims.
Join this Special Congressional Briefing being held on India’s Republic Day to hear an esteemed panel speak about the dangers to India’s Constitution and the very idea of a modern, secular India.
