LGBT Working Group Info Meeting
November 2 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT
The LGBT Working Group is an informal group of individuals from civil society who gather regularly to discuss freedom of religious belief and non belief (FoRB) issues on a non-attribution basis. It is simply a safe space where participants gather, speak freely in sharing ideas and information, and propose joint advocacy actions to address specific FoRB issues and problems globally.
Participants are free to propose initiatives regarding the protection and promotion of freedom of religion, conscience, and belief around the world, and other participants have then the possibility to join these initiatives and self-select into coalitions of the willing on such initiatives.
The goal of the LGBT Working Group is to find common ground and: “Enlist a broad new coalition of allies. Focus on areas where religious freedom intersects with other issues, and include leaders from groups sometimes excluded from international religious freedom (Global Opportunities for Expanding and Coordinating ReligiousFreedom Initiatives Research report of religious freedom leaders and friends from around the world, IRF Summit 2021 Washington, D.C.).
