Hanukkah and the Meaning of Jewish-Uyghur solidarity
December 17, 2020 at 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EST

Join Jewish Movement for Uyghur Freedom and the European Union of Jewish Students for a session of contemplation and rededication on Jewish-Uyghur solidarity. The event is open to all, with the hope to unite Jewish and Uyghur community leaders and welcome others into existing frameworks for Jewish-Uyghur activism.
Hanukkah, “dedication” in Hebrew, resonates with the Jewish commitment to commemorate national tragedy in order to illuminate the present. We hope to shed light on the tragedy the Uyghur people are experiencing, and emerge with renewed dedication for solidarity and action.
Confirmed speakers: Tahir Imin, Rayhan Asat, Mustafa Aksu, Ruth Messinger, Honorable Irwin Cotler.
