Anatomy of Genocide: Karabakh’s Forty-Four Day War
March 17 at 10:00 am - 11:00 am EDT
Last September, Azerbaijan, supported by Turkey, launched an offensive against Nagorno-Karabakh in an attempt to take the territory from the ethnic Armenian Christians currently living there. During the fighting, Turkey and Azerbaijan were documented committing war crimes such as the killing of civilians, the use of cluster munitions and white phosphorus, and the implementation of mercenaries formerly affiliated with the Islamic State. Although the fighting has stopped and Armenia and Azerbaijan have signed a peace agreement, the brutality of the conflict illustrates that many challenges still lie ahead for Armenians, as many still fear the geopolitical ambitions of President Erdogan.
Please join International Christian Concern for this important discussion on the threats still facing Armenian Christians. This event will feature remarks from the Permanent Representative of Nagorno-Karabakh to the United States, Robert Avetisyan, as well as a representative from the Armenian Assembly of America.
